Trick or Treat

Tonight I'm going trick or treating, and not with the kids, either. I'm going by myself, and I'm dressing up as a runner. Okay, okay, I'm just running to a friend's house and back home, but I will ring their doorbell and expect some candy. And I hope it's good candy, too.

Other than that, it will be just the cats and me and maybe a big bowl of pudding.

Happy Halloween, people.

Pudding! I knew I was missing something. Had the cats, but settled with sugar wafers. Dang.

Right back at ya, Shiz!

It's okay, Amy, I ended up just having mini chocolate chips instead of pudding. Maybe next year...

Your idea would have worked just fine in our neighborhood. I don't know how many "older" kids came to our house withOUT costumes expecting candy. Ugh. It was lame.

Where I was last night, there were a couple of older kids that came up without costumes on, and my friend goes, "Um, what are you dressed up as?" They replied, "City guys?" Even they weren't sure. She gave them a couple of dumdums anyway. An appropriate treat for them, I'd say.

I thought Barb and I were the only ones that did that. When we answer the door we have two bowls of candy. One is DumDums and the other is Smarties. Sometimes we offer one or the other depending on whether their costume is lame or super. The other way we do it is to offer both bowls, but tell them they may only take from one. That way they decide whether they are DumDums or Smarties. We only ever had one person figure out what we were doing. I know that probably sounds goofey, but it makes Trick or Treat more fun for those of us who have to stay home.
